Killara is unusual for a suburb of ten thousand people: it barely has any shops. That wasn't an accident. When it was laid out in the 1890s it was designed deliberately without commercial development, and more than a century later that's still largely how it is. A small strip near the station, a few places on the highway, and that's about it.

Which means most things here involve going somewhere else. Gordon, Lindfield, Chatswood. We take one of those trips off the list entirely. Book a window, leave the bag at your front door or driveway, and it comes back washed, dried and folded.

The houses here are generous and so are the loads. Large and XL are the usual choice, one flat fee either way, and delivery on both is free.

From the heritage streets around Werona Avenue through to the newer homes closer to the highway, the pickup works the same way. You don't need to be home for either end of it.
